Slow Marketing for Climate Coaches: Tending Your Online Marketing Garden Without the Icky Hustle

A lot of marketing advice treats your business like a machine you must feed every single day. Post more, sell harder, chase the algorithm. For climate coaches, that approach feels misaligned at best and extractive at worst.

There’s another way.

In this practical session, marketing strategist Jen McFarland of Women Conquer Business will show you how to think about your online marketing the way you’d tend a garden. You plant a few good things, you care for what you own, and you let the right work grow over time. No hustle, no funnels that make you cringe, no posting yourself into burnout.

Together, we’ll explore:

What slow marketing is, and why it fits values-driven coaches better than ‘the hustle’ (that doesn’t work anyway)

The assets you actually own versus the platforms you only rent

How search and the occasional podcast guest spot can feed your garden while you rest

A weekly rhythm built around your capacity, not someone else’s idea of what you ‘should’ do

How to talk about your work without feeling icky, pushy, or out of integrity

This session is designed for climate coaches who want to be found without selling their souls to social media. Wherever you are in your business, you’ll walk away with a calmer, kinder way to market that respects both your values and your energy.

Please note that we’ll open the Zoom room 15 minutes before start to welcome new CCA-USA members.

In a world of constant change, competing demands, and uncertainty, it is easy to lose sight of what matters most. Yet nature offers countless examples of wayfinding – sea turtles returning to their nesting beaches, whales navigating immense migrations, elephants remembering water sources across generations, and bees finding their way through collective intelligence.

In this nature-inspired Inner Development Goals (IDGs) session, we will explore the theme of Inner Compass within the BEING dimension.

Hosted by the CCA-Nature pod’s IDG Community of Practice, we invite you to join us as we reflect on moments when we have lost our way, learn from nature’s wisdom and explore practices that help us rediscover with our own inner compass.

Through guided reflection, dialogue, and stories from the natural world, we will explore what helps us stay aligned with our values, purpose, and deepest knowing, especially when the path ahead is unclear.

Outcomes:

Explore the concept of an Inner Compass through the lens of nature

Learn from nature’s examples of wayfinding and reflect on how these insights can inform our lives.

Reconnect with personal sources of guidance such as values, intuition, relationships, purpose and/or connection with nature

Otto Scharmer has clarified the importance of islands of coherence and the CCA is already such a beautiful one. As a nested system, CCoP holds a particular intention within the CCA.

Come join us for our next Compassion Community of Practice 3.30-5pm (BST) on 28th May where our collective practice is simple:

-Deepening presence through guided compassion practice
-Compassionate listening to support attunement to one another and the field
-Deepening resonance and coherence as a source of nourishment, wellbeing and flow

As highlighted on the CCoP webpage, the purpose of the Compassion Special Interest Pod is to provide a secular Compassion Community of Practice (CCoP) as a way of co-regulating and processing the various emotions that arise within the Ecological Awareness Cycle. The CCoP serves as both an antidote to empathic distress fatigue and climate-related burnout in the coach, and their clients in turn, and also develops qualities beneficial to the coaching relationship and better coaching outcomes.

Principles:

-Practice over theory
-Guided compassion practice as a foundation for compassionate dialogue
-Consistent format with changing themes
-Inclusive and accessible to all

Topics:

-Self-compassion
-Embracing shared common humanity
-Cultivating compassion for others
-Compassionate listening to self and others
-Why compassion practice?
-Cultivating qualities beneficial to the coaching relationship
-Compassion practice and better coaching outcomes
-Compassion practice as an antidote to empathic distress fatigue and climate-related burnout
-Coach maturity and vertical adult development
-The neuroscience of compassion

The Summer season is here and with it, we’re stepping into growth, creativity and generosity, all human and more-than-human kin, alike.

It seems synchronous that, with the coming of the summer, we also celebrate the generosity and nurturing of a year-long seasonal walks held by Anna Brown and Lydia Stevens at the wonderful Knepp re-wilding estate! Many of you will remember and join us in sending them our gratitude, we’re sure!

And so we’re feeling honoured to continue this offering for another cycle! In deep partnership with the land at Knepp and in the same spirit of generosity, light, free holding and of interconnectedness.

Sarah Hartman and Clara Kallai will warmly welcome you to a time of walking, connection with each other and connection with the beautiful Knepp ecology.

We welcome all people developers (coaches, facilitators, trainers, supervisors, consultants etc) to join us. The walk will be at a gentle pace, allowing time to regroup and pause to appreciate our surroundings (roughly 8km). This route will include beautiful landscapes, butterflies, storks and free-roaming old English longhorn cattle, Tamworth pigs, Exmoor ponies and deer. Knepp is a demonstration of how allowing nature to regenerate heals all of her inhabitants.
This stunning landscape will set the scene for connection and collaboration, sharing with other folks in your field, as well as the more-than-human world that Knepp has enabled to flourish through its regenerative approach over the last 20 years. We want our time together to be equally free roaming and emergent, so there will be no fixed topic of conversation or agenda. We are keen to invite whatever conversation wants to happen.
You may wish to arrive early to join us for an informal lunch at the fabulous Wilding Kitchen Café at Knepp, where they celebrate the very best of produce from the Estate. Highly recommend!

*The walk is free to join and open to all. Arriving for lunch is optional and at your own expense.*

Once you’ve booked on, you’ll be added to a WhatsApp group to self-organise into lift shares or station pick-ups and to begin to connect with each other. [The closest station to Knepp is Horsham.]
Do get in touch with Clara (clarakallai@gmail.com) or Sarah (Sarah@boldly-go.co.uk) if you have any questions! We very much look forward to welcoming you to Knepp to celebrate the Summer season with us.
Timings:
11:27 – train arrives at Horsham Station from London Victoria (if you choose this route)
12:00 – meet at Knepp Wilding Kitchen & Shop, Car Park Off, Worthing Road, Dial Post,
RH13 8NQ, What3Words: ///REMAINS.ICEBERGS.RACE
12:15 – optional lunch at the Knepp Wilding Kitchen
13:15 – meet in the Wilding Kitchen courtyard, ready to begin the walk
13:30 – walk begins around the Orange Route
15:30 – approximate finish time

You may wish to make a trip of it and book the campsite at Knepp or an evening guided safari (which we can both confirm are fantastic!). Please take a look at their website for the options available www.knepp.co.uk

Why is Knepp so full of life? It stems from the way our free-roaming animals break up the fabric of our soils. These mini disturbances create space for new life to take root. You could say the same is true for human creativity. When routines are ruptured – even just for a day – new bursts of inspiration and productivity can be released”. Come to see for yourselves and meet others from the CCA, CPA and EMCC in person.

Microplastics have increasingly been in the news. The production of plastics has been
skyrocketing in recent years and is expected to triple by 2060. After use, plastics do not
biodegrade – they just break down into smaller particles called microplastics that
contain all the chemicals used to make plastic. These particles are found in air, soil,
and water.
Microplastics get into the human body and have been found in virtually every body
system that has been tested: skin, eyes, brain, blood, blood vessels, heart, lungs,
intestines, liver, kidneys, urine, feces, reproductive tracts, placentas, amniotic fluid,
breastmilk, and infant feces. They have been linked to an increased risk of heart attack,
stroke, and dementia and are suspected to contribute to many other adverse health
conditions.
Recycling is not the answer – less than 10% of plastics are recycled and this is not
expected to increase. It is unlikely that governments or fossil fuel companies will take
effective action in the near future, but there are many ways individuals and local
businesses can reduce their exposure to plastics.
This talk will provide information about the adverse health effects of plastic and
practical ways to reduce exposure.
Participants will be asked to break into these groups:
 What information is most helpful to you in coaching others on the impact of
microplastics?
 What do you think are the main points to be made as a coach regarding
microplastics?
 Have you ever brought up the idea of using less plastic with others, either as a
coach or in your daily life? If so, what went well and what was difficult? If not,
what would make this conversation easier to start?

The Living System Within: Cultivating a Regenerative Self In Coaching with Jing Ye

hosted by the Korean Speaking Pod Soojin Kim & Haesun Chung

Jing Ye is one of the 12 pioneers who participated in the “Coaching for a Regenerative World- The 12×12 Research project” led by CCA members Fran Smith (CCA Brazil), Claire d’Aboville (GCP), Padraic O’Donnell (CCA USA) and Kat Haber (CCA USA).

We are delighted to invite you to a special webinar featuring a pioneering coach working at the intersection of sustainability, coaching, and ecological awareness in China. Drawing from over a decade of experience supporting individuals, organizations, and communities in the sustainability field, this session offers a unique opportunity to explore how coaching can expand our perspective—from the individual to the interconnected living systems we are part of. As highlighted in her journey, this work is not only about impact, but about “making our world larger” through deeper connection and awareness .

In this interactive session, participants will be gently invited to reconnect with nature through a reflective check-in, bringing a natural element into the shared space. The workshop will introduce key concepts such as “a wider sense of self” from Active Hope and the idea of the inner living system —the “Gaia within us”- offering a powerful lens to understand ourselves as part of a larger ecological whole.

Through a live coaching demonstration and group exercises, participants will experience perspective-shifting in real time. This approach reflects a core insight from ecological coaching: that transformation begins not only with knowledge, but with how we relate – to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.

Whether you are a coach, a sustainability practitioner, or simply someone curious about new ways of seeing and being, this session offers both practical tools and a meaningful space for reflection. We will close with a Q&A, inviting participants to explore how these ideas can be integrated into their own work and lives.

Mit jelent valójában a bolygóbarát étrend?

– érdekel a klímavédelem,

A férőhelyek száma limitált.

A program a Climate Coaching Alliance Hungary szervezésében valósul meg.

A beszélgetést vezetik: Sztarinka Csilla, Pék Anikó és Csocsán Balázs, a CCA Hungary tagjai
