By Steve March, Creator of Aletheia Coaching | Founder & CEO, Aletheia Academy LLC

What if cultural transformation isn’t about fixing a broken world, but about revealing the innate wholeness that is already present?

How do deep, lasting shifts in behavior and culture occur? Traditional approaches to climate activism often rely on critique of current behaviors and persuasion to adopt sustainable practices. So far, these approaches have produced mixed results at best. This session will challenge the idea that change is about fixing deficiencies through improvements. Instead, we will explore how sustainable ways of being unfold organically—just as forests regenerate and rivers carve new paths.

Join us to discover how coaching, leadership, and activism can become fertile ground for ecological transformation—not by making people “better,” but by creating spaces where innate wholeness can naturally unfold.

_____________________________________________________________________

If you value the work the CCA is doing, please help us fund the road ahead.

“There are unexpected possibilities that await in another order of parallel approaches. There is a territory of communication, relationship, and daily living that allows for a total change—it is within reach, but not in the solutions currently being reached for.” – Nora Bateson

The epistemological frames that have shaped who and what we have become are crumbling. Learning between people and across generations has broken down. Learning and learning to learn together over time, within multiple contexts with curiosity and care reveals the relationships and interdependencies that fertilize and nourish the soil of the territories we live within.

In this two-hour session, Nora Bateson will host an exploration rooted in theories that are often left out elements of systems thinking that inform her Warm Data work. Participants will get a taste of the Warm Data online practice, People Need People (PNP), to experience new kinds of unscripted and unexpected conversations opening fresh perceptions towards emerging territories of responsiveness where the value is in the relationships. These transcontextual conversations open opportunities for unprecedented possibilities we are bound by, unveiling the illusions of independence and widening our sensitivities to the entanglements of our living systems.

PS: Please feel free to reach out to Andra Morosi (andra.morosi at gmail dot com) or Anne-Marie Brest (annemarie at designingyourlife dot coach) for any questions about this event.

Climate Cafe: Global Women RISE UP in Collective Witness

On International Women’s Day, women from around the world are gathering in a 90 minute SHE Changes Climate Climate Cafe.

11:30 am-1 pm GMT/6:30am-8:00 am EST/9:30 am-11:00 am PST

In this simple, hospitable, empathetic space, fears & uncertainties about our climate & ecological crisis can be safely expressed by participants. In Collective witness a quiet, reflective experience is born – a haven from usual busyness and activity.

The gathering is grounded in the following principles: i) We have no intention of leading anyone to any conclusion or course of action; ii) This is an open, respectful and confidential space where people can express their views in a safer space; ii) The focus in listening and sharing is our thoughts and feelings about climate change, rather than solutions, or what we or others are doing about climate change. Action in planning climate action or discussing climate policy is important, of course, but we don’t focus on it here.

To prepare for the Climate Cafe, we encourage you to grab a drink of your choice or cozy blanket to feel that warmth at home.

The Climate Cafe is co-facilitated by two SHE Changes Climate Ambassadors, Janet Mrenica (Canada) and Dianey Mugalizi (Kenya). Janet is a trained facilitator of the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America. This Climate Cafe is opening a space for a Facilitator-in-Training, the SHE Changes Climate Ambassador, Christina Namusaazi (Uganda). The Tech Support is provided by Elizabeth Gor-Bell (Canada).

For more information on the Why What and How is a Climate Cafe, see here: Climate Cafés (climatepsychologyalliance.org)

The 10th Anniversary Reunion of the Great March for Climate Action uses online zoom platform to share stories, photos, videos, music, and artifacts from our activations. Our Mission a decade ago remains changing the hearts & minds of Americans, our elected leaders, and people across the world to act now (2014) to address our climate crisis. This could be for you, if as a climate coach, you feel you do not yet understand sufficiently what it is to take climate action personally. Hear of the challenges, the joys, the misses, the lifestyle shifts, modeling a climate-light lifestyle as a group. On March 1, 2014, dozens of climate patriots set out from the poor port town of Wilmington near Los Angeles, CA, walking 3,000 miles across America to Washington, DC, inspiring action to resolve the climate crisis. This was one of the largest coast-to-coast marches in American history. Marchers respected a strict code of non-violence according to the principles employed by Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi. Mandatory non-violence training was provided at the start of the March. We governed the March through a city council of marchers elected by marchers. 3 time elected March Mayor Miriam Kashia will be hosting a session. Ed Fallon the visionary to gather Climate Reality Leaders from our Chicago training of 2,000 climate leaders the year before, will be hosting sessions honoring Marchers we’ve lost, music from the Climate Justice Gypsy Band, and welcoming all climate marchers and those who love us. At times, we employed a town-meeting style of governance involving the entire March community, with a simple majority vote to make decisions. Marchers continue their good work in local communities across the US, and Climate March is committed to lifting up their actions and others involved in marching as a means to raise awareness of the urgency of our climate crisis. From solar panel device charger trailer to oil barrel latrine truck to mobile kitchen to gear truck we moved ourselves across the country. Show up March 2 & 3 to let us move you with our stories.

Register here: https://forms.gle/Fy6j2KpKbkAWy3sg8

It’s free. We anticipate fun. Adding you to our continuing March would be fabulous!

William Commanda (North American Indigenous Leader, Algonquin Elder and Carrier of Wampum Heritage, Canoe Builder, Hon.
