“When a complex system is far from equilibrium, small islands of coherence in a sea of chaos have the capacity to shift the entire system to a higher order.”
Ilya Prigogine, Nobel Prize-winning chemist

Otto Scharmer has clarified the importance of islands of coherence and the CCA is already such a beautiful one. As a nested system, CCoP holds a particular intention within the CCA.

Come join us for our next Compassion Community of Practice 3.30-5pm (BST) on 28th May where our collective practice is simple:

-Deepening presence through guided compassion practice
-Compassionate listening to support attunement to one another and the field
-Deepening resonance and coherence as a source of nourishment, wellbeing and flow

As highlighted on the CCoP webpage, the purpose of the Compassion Special Interest Pod is to provide a secular Compassion Community of Practice (CCoP) as a way of co-regulating and processing the various emotions that arise within the Ecological Awareness Cycle. The CCoP serves as both an antidote to empathic distress fatigue and climate-related burnout in the coach, and their clients in turn, and also develops qualities beneficial to the coaching relationship and better coaching outcomes.

Principles:

-Practice over theory
-Guided compassion practice as a foundation for compassionate dialogue
-Consistent format with changing themes
-Inclusive and accessible to all

Topics:

-Self-compassion
-Embracing shared common humanity
-Cultivating compassion for others
-Compassionate listening to self and others
-Why compassion practice?
-Cultivating qualities beneficial to the coaching relationship
-Compassion practice and better coaching outcomes
-Compassion practice as an antidote to empathic distress fatigue and climate-related burnout
-Coach maturity and vertical adult development
-The neuroscience of compassion

We look forward to welcoming you.

With Warm Wishes,

Reconnection is critical at this time. We must slow down and come back into relationship with Earth. The Pachamama Alliance has co-created these Earth Listening Circles with the indigenous tribes of the amazon, who are guiding us in returning to a way of being that is one of sacred reciprocity and human responsibility.

Join me on this Global Day of Listening to gift our mother with our undivided attention and compassion as we settle in and be with her and one another. We will take some time to practice and prepare for the listening ritual then following our time in nature we will return to harvest and process together. Then set next steps on our path to connection with our self, our source, and our surroundings.

You can take the pledge to participate and learn more here: https://hubs.li/Q03xWv2x0. Simply email me to RSVP for this virtual circle at sheri@yourpathcoach.org, and I will share the virtual links with you.

If you happen to be local to Denver, Colorado, I will also be hosting 2 in-person options on the 21st.

How might forgiveness become a source of nourishment?

In this experiential session, we’ll explore the metaphor of composting as a way to transform pain, resentment, and what no longer serves into fertile ground for growth.

Drawing on nature’s cycles, inner development practices, and wisdom from traditional cultures, we will:

Reflect on what we are ready to “return to the soil”.

Experience a guided visualization and small-circle sharing.

Support coaches to accompany clients in composting their own old stories or hurts into fresh possibilities.

Weave together a mycelium network of nature-inspired inner development practitioners.

This is a gentle, interactive space for practising coaches to ground in nature, expand metaphors for transformation, and experience forgiveness not as discarding, but as restoring balance.

Come with curiosity, an open heart and perhaps something you are ready to let go of. Leave with a deeper appreciation of tending to our inner soil, and cultivating the conditions for balance, renewal, and new possibilities.

Welcome to the Autumn edition of our Earth Listening Circles—a sacred and nurturing space to move, reflect, and reconnect with the rhythms of nature and self.

As the trees let go of their leaves and the earth turns inward (in the Northern Hemisphere), we too are invited to pause, let go, and listen. This season of transition and surrender is a good mirror for our own lives—the letting go that makes space for renewal.

Through conscious movement, somatic practice, and guided reflection, we will explore the deep wisdom of autumn: the dance between life and death, between holding and release. In our coaching profession that holds so much for others, this space offers you a chance to take time for self-care and resourcing in an embodied way.

What to Expect?

Move freely with conscious dance to connect with ourselves

Listen mindfully to the sounds and silence of autumn

Honor the elements – earth, fire, water, and air

Share and connect in a supportive circle

No dance experience is needed—just an open heart and curiosity to explore through beautiful world beats.

All are welcome to this open session for the CCA community. The theme is peer-support, learning from each other with compassion. It might relate to the Shaping Tomorrow Playbook but is also open to all those coaching in the political arena and would like some support with any of the dilemmas you are facing.

There is an option to focus this support in relation to the Six Steps of the Shaping Tomorrow Playbook. Is there a skill or section you’d like a chance to practice, supported by your fellow coaches?

Our October session gives you the opportunity to explore issues you are facing in a safe and constructive space, working with your peers to help you stretch beyond your current thinking.

Two coaches have 30 mins each to be coached. If there are more than two wanting to be coached, we have the option of breakout groups.

If you would like to take up the opportunity to be coached by your fellow CCA members, please write a few sentences about what you’re most interested in working on and send it by 2 October to Lydia Stevens and Fiona Anderson political@climatecoachingalliance.org

We are all there to share and challenge with compassion. This session is not being recorded for confidentiality. Our joint lessons from this process and any key take aways can be shared in our next newsletter as well as the coaching questions asked and resources shared.

Peer-coaches will be those who attend the meeting. The Political Pod is attended by experienced and empathetic coaches all of whom care deeply about the state of our planet and are aware of the power dynamics at play locally and globally.

The session is part of the CCA’s Compassion Season

With over 65+ participants in our “Courageous Coaching – having conversations that matter course” – 6 online sessions over 6 months supported with Walk & Talk Coaching with nature – we’re keen to share the insights we’ve gained through collaborative learning.

These insights are relevant to the CCA community, whichever ‘doorway’ – entry points – into conversations that matter we are working on. For this highly interactive webinar we invite your support and challenge so we can collectively learn and go deeper together. We’ve also learned that to do this work well it’s important to cultivate compassion. For ourselves, other humans, and the more-than-human world.

The foundations for the “Courageous Coaching – having conversations that matter” course, draw on the wisdom traditions, and include mindfulness and neuroscience, indigenous wisdom, nature practices and connection, and systems perspectives, including Theory U. Some of the insights we’ll share include how shifting to more of an inquiry (coaching!) mindset helps; how mindfulness, compassion & nature practices, indigenous wisdom & community helps in many different ways. We’ve also challenged ourselves to move beyond a sustainability mindset to thinking about ‘regenerating life’, and how words and language matter.

This highly interactive webinar, is an invitation for us all to go deeper together, where we support and challenge ourselves in a safe space, so we can better integrate our learning as we move towards ‘wise action’, and find meaning and agency in a time of metacrisis.
