Join us for a complimentary, 2-hour experiential workshop—a spacious and reflective gathering to pause and consider what it means to work, lead, live and love with an increased awareness of our mortality.

Together we’ll draw on insights from those who have walked close to life’s edges, exploring how a deeper connection to our finite nature can enrich our choices and ignite purpose. Mortality will be welcomed here not as a fearful shadow but as a powerful companion in shaping a meaningful, impactful life.

These sessions are not recorded.

We invite you to arrive on time, stay for the full two hours, and keep your camera on throughout, so we can create a safe and connected space for all. Late arrivals and early departures can be disruptive to the depth of the experience.

We hope you’ll leave with:

A heightened awareness of the preciousness of life
An invitation to embrace mortality as a key ingredient in living well and on purpose
Insights for bringing this awareness into how you work, lead, and love
We are not limiting participation to Climate Coaching Alliance members or coaches—mortality awareness is for everyone.

Please feel free to share this invitation widely with friends, colleagues, and communities.

Upcoming dates:

  • 16 September
  • 7 October
  • 21 November
  • 8 December

Times vary to suit time zones around the world.
Registration is via Calendly – you will see the sessions scheduled over the coming months.

We look forward to seeing you,
Emma & Joan

My work is coalescing around the importance of making space in our lives - both at home and at work - for endings, loss and grief... and that when we do this intentionally, and preferably in community, in time, new energy can emerge. No - this is not just pushing the "happy ever after" narrative on you but instead inviting us to turn more to what is hard, what is devastating, what is no longer - whether in our lives, in our world at large), and be with the pain of that. Sit in it for a while. It is so counter-cultural to do this - to turn towards, rather than to turn away, deny, distract, ignore, or numb - or whatever our game may be.

My sense is that when we don't stay with what hurts, when we insist on "turning away and moving on", we fail to take in learnings and lessons. We forget what it is that we long for and what binds us, and we miss opportunities for the necessary transformation that these times require of us. As such, we miss out on the very real inner work that will support the outer, technical solutions that are popping up everywhere.

Mortal Leader, for me, is an invitation to slow down and potentially let go of what we think is important, to explore what is of ultimate importance, and invite our flow in life. I anchor myself in seeding, embracing and illuminating truth and love, breathing life into people’s lives and my own.

There is no more universal truth than to recognise that there is only one thing that we have to do in life, and that is to die.  Everything else is a choice. It sounds morbid, but it’s not. When we turn towards death and endings – in our personal lives, in our organisations – we start to feel the flow of energy that supports us in the present and takes us forward, one step at a time.

My favourite place is not to be above, directing and telling, or below, being directed and told, but to be with and alongside, and seeing what emerges from that rich, fertile soil of me being who I am, and you being who you are, right here, right now.
