Waterways -The Beaver
Beaver works with both the drought and the flood as a harmonizing factor, especially in climate initiatives. Recognized as a keystone species for “nature-based solutions,” beavers act as natural climate engineers. Beaver’s activities provide major climate benefits such as flood reduction, water storage, carbon capture, microclimate regulation and water filtration
Personally, beaver helps us source from organised chaos, and expand into our senses, facilitating our capacities to see and feel our way in the darkness by developing other senses. Beaver represents hard work, persistence, focus and building of dreams. As a synthesizer of the natural world, this animal symbolizes the power of taking action, collaborating with community, and creating emergent solutions, turning dreams into reality through creativity and play.
Join us in the beaver’s plumbery to understand how beavers assist in the climate crisis, and enter the darkness, work with our breath and sense in new ways to co-create coherence.
This is part of the ‘Wild at Heart’ series, with Water in the wild and Wild Wolves to follow in September.
