Action Learning for Climate Coaching

As established or aspiring climate coaches, we all experience deep emotions and face challenges. This 2-hour thinking space allows for deep care, attention, learning and connection to address the challenges we face in moving forward with our most effective coaching for the climate.

In this 2-hour session, we’ll follow a 6-step process called Action Learning – topic description, clarification, open questions, action plan, reflections, closing.

With 5 years practice of Action Learning sets within the United Nations, and as a trained supervisor, I am using a methodology that is inspired by various schools. I introduced it to my CCA book circle group, and they love it! I am looking forward to running it again.

As a group, we will choose one participant’s topic to practice. The participant whose topic is chosen takes the role of a client and the other participants play the role of coaches or peers. Cases discussed are real, important to the “client”, centred on them. The session is run in a spirit of confidentiality, curiosity, openness, generosity and is limited to 4 to 8 participants plus me, Claire d’Aboville, as the facilitator.

We will run this process twice, therefore discussing two topics.

Please come prepared with a topic you would like to discuss and be ready to accept that maybe your topic will not be discussed. You need to be present for the full 2 hours.

In this 2-hour session you will experience:

Strong connection with other participants
Support to solve challenges (yours and others) specific to climate coaching
A supportive learning environment where we can practice openness and curiosity
A tool for coaches
This is for you if:

You are already engaged in Climate Coaching in some form
You are considering becoming a Climate Coach
You feel connected to the cause but not sure how to engage
Event limited to 8 places. If you book a place and later can’t come, please contact me so someone else can benefit.

Presenter(s) Bio

Claire is an ICF accredited executive coach (PCC) since 2008. She supports senior leaders in international organisations and global contexts, in the private sector and within the United Nations.

A passionate reader, she read "The Future we Choose" (Christiana Figueres) in 2020. This reading opened her eyes to the climate crisis. Since then, she has moved back and forth through the Eco-Phases, learning as much as she could, and reflected on the role she wants to play. A mother of two young adults, she cares about her legacy and the world the contributes to create.

Recent trainings she attended include "Coaching in the Climate Crisis" (Academy of Executive Coaching), Transformative Climate Advocacy (Pacific Integral) and Business Sustainability Management (Cambridge). She is an active member of the CCA, supporting communities.
