CCA Political Pod: peer-coaching with compassion

All are welcome to this open session for the CCA community. The theme is peer-support, learning from each other with compassion. It might relate to the Shaping Tomorrow Playbook but is also open to all those coaching in the political arena and would like some support with any of the dilemmas you are facing.

There is an option to focus this support  in relation to the Six Steps of the Shaping Tomorrow Playbook. Is there a skill or section you’d like a chance to practice, supported by your fellow coaches?

Our October session gives you the opportunity to explore issues you are facing in a safe and constructive space, working with your peers to help you stretch beyond your current thinking.

Two coaches have 30 mins each to be coached. If there are more than two wanting to be coached, we have the option of breakout groups.

If you would like to take up the opportunity to be coached by your fellow CCA members, please write a few sentences about what you’re most interested in working on and send it by 2 October to Lydia Stevens and Fiona Anderson political@climatecoachingalliance.org

We are all there to share and challenge with compassion. This session is not being recorded for confidentiality. Our joint lessons from this process and any key take aways can be shared in our next newsletter as well as the coaching questions asked and resources shared.

Peer-coaches will be those who attend the meeting. The Political Pod is attended by experienced and empathetic coaches all of whom care deeply about the state of our planet and are aware of the power dynamics at play locally and globally.

The session is part of the CCA’s Compassion Season

Her breadth of experience covers transition as a leader, especially for founders of businesses and those fitting into their shoes once founders leave. Lydia is passionate about supporting younger people and global networks.

Fiona Anderson is a climate coach and  writes the Climate Coaching Alliance Political Pod monthly newsletter. She works with local politicians and climate activists in Devon and Dorset. She worked as a journalist for over 30 years, including TV news production at BBC Newsnight and the BBC's Asia and Washington bureaux. Her favourite work as a coach has been with conservationists confronting climate change around the Mediterranean with Common Purpose.  She's also a trustee of Action East Devon, a charity supporting young people struggling with their mental health, and feels it is deeply unjust that they should have to shoulder anxiety about the climate crisis along with their other worries.
