The 10th Anniversary Reunion of the Great March for Climate Action uses online zoom platform to share stories, photos, videos, music, and artifacts from our activations. Our Mission a decade ago remains changing the hearts & minds of Americans, our elected leaders, and people across the world to act now (2014) to address our climate crisis. This could be for you, if as a climate coach, you feel you do not yet understand sufficiently what it is to take climate action personally. Hear of the challenges, the joys, the misses, the lifestyle shifts, modeling a climate-light lifestyle as a group. On March 1, 2014, dozens of climate patriots set out from the poor port town of Wilmington near Los Angeles, CA, walking 3,000 miles across America to Washington, DC, inspiring action to resolve the climate crisis. This was one of the largest coast-to-coast marches in American history. Marchers respected a strict code of non-violence according to the principles employed by Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi. Mandatory non-violence training was provided at the start of the March. We governed the March through a city council of marchers elected by marchers. 3 time elected March Mayor Miriam Kashia will be hosting a session. Ed Fallon the visionary to gather Climate Reality Leaders from our Chicago training of 2,000 climate leaders the year before, will be hosting sessions honoring Marchers we’ve lost, music from the Climate Justice Gypsy Band, and welcoming all climate marchers and those who love us. At times, we employed a town-meeting style of governance involving the entire March community, with a simple majority vote to make decisions. Marchers continue their good work in local communities across the US, and Climate March is committed to lifting up their actions and others involved in marching as a means to raise awareness of the urgency of our climate crisis. From solar panel device charger trailer to oil barrel latrine truck to mobile kitchen to gear truck we moved ourselves across the country. Show up March 2 & 3 to let us move you with our stories.
