UK Local Communities: Setting up

Creating Local Communities around the globe to stretch, challenge and support each other as we face into and develop the necessary skill and grace to work with the climate and ecological emergencies is something we are keen to do.

Sally Gillespie (author of Climate Crisis and Consciousness: Reimagining our world and ourselves) noted in her book, how a small group of colleagues who held the same focus around climate was central to her personal growth as well as practice development in this space. In addition, regenerative ideas point to the importance of place, where we live, offering unique opportunities in relation to the actions we might take. Further, smaller groups can move more nimbly than a global community – and the learning in smaller groups can inspire and accelerate learning in the wider community through cross-pollination.

There are a number of small communities emerging around the globe, and in the UK, we have one group (Southern UK). However, we have more than  150 UK members from across the regions.

There are many members in the UK stepping forward to co-lead, and now, we just need to connect and come together, and start to build those local synergies.

We can also share one example at least of our members coming together to work with regional opportunities.

We look forward to seeing you there
