Young people and education pod: using coaching to work with young people to help them address the climate challenge

As a group, we have shared research and practical ideas about using a coaching approach with young people and developed a toolkit for educators.  We are delighted that Jasen Booton is leading our September session.

Jasen has spent two years working in partnership with the Tongan Ministry of Education co-constructing the new primary school curriculum. Tonga is a small island state in the Pacific which is extremely vulnerable to climate change. In the new curriculum Jasen has designed teacher guides and pupil books  that focus on resilience and positive action for a healthy planet. Drawing upon principles and practice of positive psychology and coaching approaches, pupil activities aim to foster solutions-oriented mindsets. Activities are designed to inspire children to take small and achievable eco gestures for a healthier planet.

Join our meeting to hear more from Jasen and discuss key themes with others interested in using a coaching approach with young people.
