Way of the Whale
Whales act as living carbon sinks by storing large amounts of carbon in their massive bodies throughout their long lives. A single great whale sequesters an average of 33 tons of CO2 over its lifetime, roughly equivalent to 1,000 trees. Commercial whaling however has reduced whale populations by 81%, significantly diminishing this natural carbon capture capacity. In this session learn about whale fall and whale pumps and how they benefit the planet. Hear how the myth of Sedna, involving whales, coaches us in letting go and regeneration, and how an awareness of the consciousness of water enables us to celebrate water with reverence. We will also experience a deep dive with whale as we navigate the sonic activation in our body through Whale’s haunting melody and find our personal whale song.
